The Age of Jackson
Andrew Jackson was the first person from the American West who was elected President. Many historians have viewed Jackson's Presidency as a turning point in the progress of American democracy. It became known as "The Era of the Common Man," marked by growth in the involvement of the average citizen in public life. I was also a time when Native Americans Indians were forced westward, and the threat of secession was avoided.
